How to use it on a TV or tablet

There is no voiceover. You (or a resident) read each question aloud, and the screen keeps time.

Showing it on a TV

1. Connect a computer or tablet to the TV (with an HDMI cable, for example). The TV shows whatever is on that device's screen.
2. Open this page and press "Host presses Next" or "Auto-advance" on the quiz above. The quiz fills the screen.
3. A short chime plays when each answer appears. Adjust the volume on the device or the TV.

The first time, try it once on an office computer before deciding to use the TV in your activity room.

Using a tablet on its own

• Turn the tablet sideways for the biggest view.
• Use the Pause, Back and Next buttons under the quiz. In "Host presses Next" mode, once the answer is showing, you can tap anywhere on the quiz to go to the next question.
• The screen is set to stay on during the quiz (this doesn't work on every device). If the screen goes dark partway through, set the tablet's screen timeout (auto-lock) to a longer time.
• It also works on a phone, but the text is smaller. For a group, use a TV or tablet.

Two ways to run it

• Auto-advance: press it once and the screen keeps time for you. Each answer stays up for 15 seconds, then the next question starts. Your hands are free to move around the room, repeat a question and help people join in. Press Pause whenever a good conversation starts.
• Host presses Next: the next question comes only when you press Next. Choose this if you'd like time to chat after each answer.

In both modes, every question has 30 seconds to think, and the answer appears when the time is up, never early. Pause stops the clock, and Back returns to the previous question.

Internet is only needed to open the page

You need an internet connection to open this page. Once it's open, the quiz keeps going to the end even if the connection drops. To reload or reopen the page, you'll need the internet again.

1. This episode is free. There's nothing to sign up or apply for, and it never costs anything to watch.
2. You're welcome to show it to a group in your facility, on a TV or big screen, for as many people and as many times as you like. The same goes for use at home or in a community group or club.
3. Feel free to share the address of this page with anyone.
4. Please don't record it or copy it to hand out or sell, stream it online, or change the questions or screens and pass them on. You may print copies to use within your facility, but please don't sell them or post them online.
